Also listed below is a list of websites to check out for ideas!

*****"SCIENCE FAIR" PROJECTS*****

FINAL DUE DATE: Mon, May 16

AFTER SPRING BREAK your child will be starting a “mini” SCIENCE FAIR EXPERIMENT to perform at home. Please encourage your child to think CREATIVELY about the experiment. For example, how could certain factors/ variables of the experiment be changed - how would the results change? Have them TRY IT OUT.

These experiments should pretty simple, but will require some SUPPLIES (ie: simple household/ garage materials).

I would also encourage PHOTOS to be taken of the experiment (or DRAWINGS made). (VIDEO of the experiment is an option)

*****SUMMARY of REQUIREMENTS*****

1. PERFORM EXPERIMENTS at home – record results

2. Create a POSTER/ BOARD (or PowerPoint) about the experiment - include pictures or photos (or VIDEO?).

3. One-page (max) TYPED LAB REPORT about the experiment.

4. Short in-class PRESENTATION.

************************************************

The students will be getting a more detailed instruction sheet and will have time in class to work on preparing their project.

à WHAT TO DO NOW – ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILD TO RESEARCH DIFFERENT PROJECT IDEAS – SEE WEB SITES ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THIS PAPER. Bring the ideas to class.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Mr. Sandoval
